You can choose to leave a blank answer in UMAT if you wish to. But, it is preferable if you make a random guess and expect the answer to be correct. Even if you make a wild guess for 10 questions you can be sure to get 10% of the answers correct.

When attempting to the MCQ’s there might be a possibility that mark are deducted for every wrong answer. But, then you should also remember that a wild guess would not be quite harmful in UMAT. Guessing would not be helpful but if no marks are really deducted then a wild guess would not be harmful.

One of the best ways of guessing an answer in UMAT is through eliminating the least relevant options. If you have a hint that one or two options would not be correct then you can directly afford to eliminate them from the list. In this regard, you would be left with two options which would make it easier to guess at answer. Guessing an answer does not always means that you have no idea of the correct choice. It perhaps means that you are more capable of making a choice between two options which stands near to the question.

So, a wild guess in UMAT often proves to be beneficial and help you fetch an additional score.
